Prices and paying
How do I cancel?
There's nothing to cancel: we never charge your card automatically. If you simply stop paying, your site stays online for 7 days after your paid time ends (we email you when that starts), then visitors see a "taking a short break" page and online booking, orders and your contact form stop taking new requests. Your pages, products, orders, bookings and customer list are kept — nothing is deleted — and paying again brings the site straight back. To take it down sooner, use "Take my site offline"; your paid time keeps running while it's offline.
What happens if I don't renew?
We email you 5 days before your paid time ends. If it runs out, your site stays up for 7 more days and we email you again. After that, visitors see a polite "taking a short break" page until you pay. Nothing is deleted.
How does paying work?
You pay by card on a secure PowerTranz page, for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time. Twelve months cost the same as 10 (2 free). We never charge your card automatically; you add more time from your dashboard when you choose.
What if I switch a tool on halfway through a month?
You pay only for the days left in the time you've already paid for, and you see the amount before you pay. Switching a tool off takes effect straight away.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, with the Custom domain tool (US$5 a month). You buy the domain from any registrar and point it at us; the security certificate (SSL) is set up automatically.
Can I change my template later?
Yes. Your Website tab can start your site over from any template (it replaces your pages and sections, and asks first). You can also change the theme, or swap any one section's design without retyping your words.
Are prices in US dollars?
Yes, so they stay stable. If your card is charged in Jamaican dollars, you see the exact J$ amount before you pay.
Is there a fee on my sales?
No. Orders and bookings that come through your site are yours. Squaremax doesn't take payments for you, so there's no commission.
Can you build the site for me?
Yes: send your photos, menu or services and hours through the contact page and we set the whole site up for you, for a one-time US$99.
I need something the builder doesn't do.
That's what Custom builds are for: features the builder doesn't have, connections to other systems, or a design made just for you, at a flat price agreed before we start.
Websites
Do I need my own domain?
No. Your site lives at squaremaxtech.com/your-name from day one. You can add your own domain later with the Custom domain tool.
Can I change the site myself?
Yes. Tap any part of your site in the dashboard to edit it, and upload photos from your phone.
How will I know when someone contacts me?
Every message from your contact form is emailed to you and kept in your dashboard.
Can I add bookings or a shop later?
Yes. Switch on a tool from your dashboard whenever you're ready; you pay only for the days left in your paid time.
What if I stop paying?

Bookings
How do customers book?
They pick a service, a day and a free time on your site, then leave their name and email. Only times inside your opening hours that nobody else has taken are offered.
Do I have to accept every booking?
You confirm or cancel each booking from your dashboard, and the customer is emailed either way.
Do customers pay online when they book?
No. They pay you in person or however you usually take money, and you mark the booking paid in your dashboard.
Will I miss a booking if I'm busy?
Every booking is emailed to you and waits in your dashboard until you confirm it.
Stores
Can customers pay by card on my site?
Not yet. Customers place the order on your site, and you take payment your way: cash, bank transfer or your card machine. Then you mark the order paid.
What happens to my stock?
Stock comes off when you mark an order paid or sell at the counter. Your site shows "Only 3 left" and "Sold out" by itself.
Can I offer delivery?
Yes. Choose pickup, delivery or both, and add a note about areas and fees.
Do I get receipts and reports?
Every sale gets a numbered receipt, and the Money tab gives you sales, tax and profit reports to download or print.
